It's just brief
Editorial
In a part of this edition’s preface article we brought couple of reasons against summer season! First reason is that summer is not a school holiday season for us to love it because we hate study! Other reason is that summer nights are too short and we can’t enjoy them enough! And other reason is that in third world countries like Iran electricity shut down for couple of hours and therefore no one can even turn the air-conditioner on.
Generally speaking all seasons are doomed in Iran.
Zoom back: Dossier
This edition’s case study devoted to Bijan Najdi, Writer and poet from north of Iran, (Gilan, Lahijan). He passed away eleven years ago diagnosed with cancer. His book “Those cheetahs that ran with me” made him very famous. He was math teacher and only published one book in his entire life due to his bad financial situation. After his death three more of his books got published. This gossip is in the air that his wife wrote some of his books, but she denies all this gossips given her financial situation turned to be good now!
Feedback
A website accused Adambarfiha e-cultural magazine of faking Houshang Golmakani’s name. Houshang is Iran Film Magazine’s head editor. We followed this subject in one of our sections.
Golmakani is one of Adambarfiha’s friend.
Nostalgia
In nostalgic section we analysed “Strawberry” by Bergman. Strawberry is a very popular movie in novel Iranian society. It is about an old man who goes through his life memories whilst he is about to die. Old man was an uni academic. The main message of this movie is about concept of religion and God. Bergman was an Atheist.
World cinema
In world movies we have an interview with Julien shnabel, the winner of golden palm tree in cann's Film Festival.
Also we have a critic on last animated movie by Pixar Company called “Wall E”.
Dossier
Woman and Art is the other case study of this edition, and the relationship between women, cinema and literature analysed in this section.
Other topics in this case study are as following:
Analyse character of women in Behzaad Beyzaiee and Tahmineh Milani’s films. Analyse four novel female character in Iran’s cinema. Women in Forough Farrokhzad’s poems. Women in Persian poems, and few more feminist subjects…
Memorial
There are two topics about Khosro Shakibaaee (famous Iranian actor) who died recently. One of them is about his biography and other one is about his position in Iran’s cinema.
Cinema sociology
Roughness in teenagers and US schools in two recently released movies have been analysed from sociology viewpoint in one of our sections.
Film theory
Gill Deleuze was a French philosopher who wrote two books about cinema. We translated part of his opinions which is about two famous world cinema directors; kubric and Antonioni. This part is about relationship between human body, brain, and outside world.
Music
Metallica is the topic of our music section, who are the most popular metal music band in Iran.
Literature
In one of our articles we analysed fantasy roots in Nezami’s poems.
Nezami was a famous Iranian poet who left couple of love poem notebooks behind. He was living ten centuries ago.
Mirror
In an article titled “What’s the point of cinema critics?” we analysed cinema critic writing in Iran.
In part of this article you read: “Cinema critic naturally has social and political comment and maybe that’s why there have been always pressure on critic writers and artists in Iran”.
Virtual media
In one of this editions’ section we had a look at electronic and internet media. Electronic media is a reality that hasn’t been taken seriously in Iran and can’t be a career. Iranians prefer hard copy magazines/newspapers than internet sites and electronic news.
